Mobile phones are increasingly becoming a way of life and as the influence of mobile phones increases more and more people will tend to use it as their laptops or rather as mini computers especially because of the features and the functions that the so called smartphones have to offer. Considering the above situation there is every probability that people will also be storing their important files and folders in their mobile phones.

Gradually there arises a need of application softwares that can provide some sort of synchronization between your smartphone and pc so that you can easily transfer contents from one device to another and at the same time create backups of important files and stuff. Microsoft Phone Data Manger is specifically designed to cater to the need of transferring contacts, photos, music and video from your handheld smartphone device to your PC, and you can also synchronize your phone’s contacts with your Windows Live contacts.
For the above purpose you will need to sign up for windows live contacts if you don’t already own one. That’s a little drawback as this application has no support at all for other email accounts such as gmail, yahoo etc. The working of the application is so simple that you can easily work your out way without having to spend too much time. Just install the software and plug in your device and it will be detected automatically, but only if your device has support for SyncML. There is a complete list of the devices which are supported on Microsoft website.
In case you have not noticed till now that the name of the application has beta at the end so be prepared to expect some quirks but still it’s a good application to have especially when you are worried too much about your phone data.
