With the increasing use of internet and the facilities like flickr for photos and YouTube for videos, people are increasingly posting their life online. Find On A Map is another such Symbian based application through which you can blog your location on the web and let others know about your whereabouts.

How the application works in quite simple, there is a lightweight client on S60 that keeps running in the background which is connected at all times to a Bluetooth GPS unit. Now after sometime which can either be default or user determined the location information is uploaded to a server and from there it is plotted on the map and the service is powered by google maps.

About Find On A Map:

• The best part about Find On A Map mobile application is that you don’t have to worry about the privacy of your location because when you upload your location, it’s not public at all, no one can see your location unless you make it public.
• You are also provided with a serial code when your location is uploaded, you can pass on the serial number to those whom you want your location to become visible.
• The application can be used for a variety of other purposes; one that I can think of is that, when your family member or a friend is out on a vacation, you can keep yourself updated about their location. You can also use this application in your own innovative way as imagination has no boundary.

The best part about the application is that it is available for free but the application up till now is in its beta stage so it is quite expected that you will experience some bugs. But nevertheless, Find On A Map is a really great application to have in your mobile phone.
