How to unlock the password protected memory card of your mobile phone.
I have seen such a case when one my friend forgot the password of his memory card of his mobile phone and he have some very important data in the memory card which he want to recover, he tried almost everything then he lost hope and then asked the mobile phone company to find the way to recover the data from the memory card.
But you don’t worry if you are having the same problem…as now there is a much simple and easy way out.
Requirement: You need a file explorer like FExplorer which you can download from here.
How to Unlock MMC card:
Method 1:
- Insert card into your phone but don’t access it through phone.
- Run FExplorer and Open the path C:\system.
- You will find a file called mmcstore ,rename the file mmcstore.txt
- Copy that file(mmcstore.txt) to your pc and open that file in notepad.
- You will find your password in that file.
Method 2:
Applicable to all nokia phones which are s60 2nd or s60 3rd edition series phones.check out here.

Wel it doesnt work on a 4n dat has been flashd,so its hopeless,also i tried opening the mmc files wit HEX/TEX viewer and stil no answr!

This worked on my N72…
Menu -> Tools -> Memory (it showed me something like “Memory card locked”) -> Options -> Format mem. card
After that, it worked.
I should tell you that my mmc card has locked after i’ve updated it’s software on-line, from nokia.com.

first, i have a nokia 6600 with my very precious corrupt (in a way because it can not be opened by the phone…says: System Error whenever i insert the card which i have pasted a file in the ‘recogs’ folder) and password-protected mmc. the 64MB MMC is the big one not the reduced size. i really don’t care about the mmc itself but the DATA…..the card contains so much memories…..please respond to ths

if anyone forgets password dont format your phgone
if u will format phone then c\ drive will be formatted along with that file (mmcstore.txt)
and then your memory card cant be opened
even if you go to format memory card will ask for password so no chance
the only way is go to local nokia dealer and tell him to unlock will take approx 200 RS to do this

I’ve formatted my mmc card (on n72) and it worked. It was like new. Anyway, in my searches on the internet i found that formatting the card is the best solution (if you don’t have any important data on it), that now there are available some simple devices which are simply formatting your card to make it functional (they costs ~20EUR/USD).
Anyway, i was a happy person because i didn;t had any important data and i formatted the card simply using the phone.

this trick is worked on my n70.
It will work if you had put password to mmc only on your phone, and of course it won’t work on mmc which was locked on another phone

i have a nokia 6270 and i just got it from the repair shop yesterday. I had them fix the buttons and when i came to take the fone they told me they fixed the buttons and they updated the software. So i was like ok sure. But when i came to open my gallery the picture of the memory card had a little lock. I opened it it required a password even though i didnt put a password on it. and when i come to put my USB in it it says ENTER PASSWORD. ive tried everything. AND I MEAN EVRYTHING. i tried the fexplorer thingy but i cant use it because i cant put anything on my phone. PLZ HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP
P.S. the memory card was with me tho whole time. But i think it was from the software update.

there is two files one in memory and the other in phone system
when the phone has formated there is no way to get password until yet

see my problem is that i have this microsd mmc.. when i put it into my phone( nokia 6300) it is fine and i can access all the files in it.. but when i tried placing it on my brothers phone (nokia 5300) a promt asking for a password comes up. so i tried switching it and placing it again in my phone , but no propmt comes up..
