To add to the category of windows mobile phone application is another application called Http Remote. The name of the application speaks quite a lot about itself and very rightly it does what it is supposed to do. You can control your computer with this windows mobile phone application over internet by doing a simple configuration on both the pc and mobile device side.
What Http Remote does is that it provides you are remote like interface for your computer and it communicates with your computer using wireless technology. So in order to get this application working you are first required to install the pc client in your computer and then run it. It will then show an ip address; put that ip address in your mobile phone client and the connection to your computer will be made.
However to connect to your pc you should use any mobile phone web browser that is W3C compatible preferably skyfire or opera or whatever your choice is. There have been some issues reported with the application and most of them pertain to the installation aspect. Many have found it difficult to install and the error they get is Midilet error. If that’s what you are getting then it simply means that your phone is not supported.
This application should work on almost all the devices that have web browser support and this includes PSP. So if you have a PSP then also you can control your computer wirelessly. Overall it’s a nice application to use and try.
